I am Josh Howard.

I have a Ph.D. in Public History from Middle Tennessee State University.

My dissertation was about visitor studies, talk-back boards, and post-it notes. Please ask me about it.

I primarily research and write about public history, sports history, and Appalachia.

I am working on a project about the oral history of MMO video games. I would love to hear you stories if you have them.

I have worked or interned for a lot of museums, archives, and historic sites. In reverse chronological order, the list includes: The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, The Center for Popular Music, The West Virginia History and Regional Collection, Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Museum, Virginia Tech Special Collections, and The Chesapeake and Ohio Historical Society.
